Foster's Funny just got funnier

Tuesday, 29 November 2011

Following the success of the online comedy show Vic & Bob's Afternoon Delights, Foster's Funny has decided to bring the hit comedy series The Fast Show back onto our screens, albeit our computer screens for now.

After an absence of 11 years, the return of the show and its much-loved array of peculiar characters will be a welcome one, showing exclusively on Foster's YouTube Fast Show channel.

The new gags are as funny as ever, the quick-fire sketches are 'brilliant!' and the characters have lost none of their sparkle or charm. They will all be available to watch online, alongside
Fast Show creator Charlie Higson recently described the reunion of the old cast members and their last day of filming as 'a comedy version of the Wild Geese'. He described it as 'getting [the] old gang back together for one last caper' and 'great fun' to film. For fans of the original, it will no doubt be great fun to watch too.

The show will see a range of both old and new characters come together, across 12 weekly episodes, each lasting about seven minutes. These mini online episodes will run throughout winter.

The launch of the cult comedy series coincides with the recent introduction of a new premium lager from Foster's. Keen to use humour as the driving force in the marketing of Foster's, the brand launched Foster's Gold Beer during the summer with an ad featuring the singer and actress Holly Valance in a sketch alongside Foster's own comics Brad and Dan.

The Fast Show, known for its quirky character skits and memorable catchphrases, paved the way for other British comedy sketch shows.

Comedy enthusiasts will no doubt be guilty of having borrowed a catchphrase or two from the award-winning show, slipping it into a random conversation sometime or another.

The exclusive online series commissioned by Foster's Funny promises to be every bit as hilarious as the shows in the 90s, and will introduce a whole new generation to the comedy genius of Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson.

Foster's already have a host of acts under their belts, giving comics what seems like free-reign in their creativity, so it is only natural that The Fast Show joins the ranks of Vic and Bob in creating online comedy exclusives.
