Wednesday, 3 February 2010

SOME lucky locals got a sneak preview of the Northern Ireland premiere of Sweeney Todd on Friday 29 January, as dress rehearsals got underway at the newly built Theatre at The Mill.
There was an air of excitement as the first audience took their seats to see internationally acclaimed Peter Corry star as the dark and troubled Sweeney Todd, alongside comedienne and actor Nuala McKeever playing the inventive Mrs Lovett.
Speaking about his evening, Colin Dawson from Patterson's Spade Mill said: "Congratulations to Newtownabbey Borough Council on its new ultra modern first class facility, 'Theatre at The Mill', which is very welcoming and has easy parking. I found the performance of Sweeney Todd most enjoyable with very good sound effects."
Norma Wilson, from Newtownabbey Music Club added: "Theatre at The Mill is very impressive and I enjoyed watching Nuala McKeever and Peter Corry on stage in Sweeney Todd...they were excellent."
Theatre at the Mill is the newest addition to Newtownabbey Borough Council's headquarters and is located in the Civic Square area at the back of Mossley Mill. To book tickets call the box office on 028 9034 0202 or buy online by visiting www.theatreatthemill.com.
