Two arrested over cannabis search

BALLYCLARE police arrested two people as they uncovered a cannabis factory at a house in the Courtyard, Ballynure on Tuesday (Jan 24).
Twenty five cannabis plants along with a quantity of herbal cannabis and cultivation equipment were seized during the search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
A man aged 37 and a woman aged 49, were arrested at the scene and have now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Cannabis factories have become a familiar problem for local police and is high on the PSNI's priority list. In November last year, over 500 plants were discovered during a search of property on the Ballynure Road worth an approximate street value of £250,000.
