Safety First at Newtownabbey Vehicle Road Show

Pat Martin, Chairperson of Newtownabbey Road Safety Committee and Reggie Semple, President of Road Safety Council for Northern Ireland join members of Newtownabbey Road Safety Committee, the Mayor Alderman Victor Robinson, and Council staff.
VEHICLES in the Borough were provided with a free safety test at Vehicle Road Show.
ENVIRONMENTAL Health Officers from Newtownabbey Borough Council teamed up with Newtownabbey Road Safety Committee to hold another very successful annual Vehicle Road Show at Abbey Retail Park, on Saturday 4 October.
At the event 76 vehicles were tested for vehicle emissions and headlamp beam alignment. Volunteers from the Road Safety Committee also provided advice about tyres and other lights.
Of the 76 vehicles tested, three had poor emissions results, 35 vehicles passed for headlamp alignment with 41 vehicles failing, and four vehicles had other faulty lights.
