Ballyclare's war heroes - the search goes on...

Wednesday, 12 November 2008

BALLYCLARE paid it's respects to the heroes who fought bravely in the two world wars at the weekend past. Wreaths were laid at Ballyclare's War Memorial park and a minute silence was held.
Local man Eddie Beck is compiling information on soldiers from Ballyclare who gave their lives in the war effort and has already gathered a substantial amount of photographs and documentation relating to a large number of the men.
Eddie is hoping to put all his information together and ultimately create a book detailing all the men from the town who gave their lives during the two World War's. Speaking to the Gazette, he said: "The response has been brilliant, I am keen to get some photographs and would love to hear from anyone who has photos or information."
However there is a number of men who Eddie is having trouble tracking down information on. If you are a relation of any of these men or if you have any information, in particular photographs, Eddie is keen to hear from you.
The following men from the Ballyclare area served during the two wars and Eddie is seeing information about them.
