YOUNG Mossley cyclist David Neill took victory twice for Team Madigan in the Irish Youth Championships held in Kanturk, County Cork recently.
David took victories in both the Under 16 Criterium Race and Road Race, and also took a respectable fourth in the time trial.
David's victory in the Criterium turned out to be a hilly 32 mile road race which came down to an eight man sprint which David won by four to five bike lengths ahead of Benner Maguire ( Drogheda Wheelers) and Ben Dowling (Bray Wheelers).
Later that day David took part in a 2 mile time trial finishing fourth behind eventual winner Aaron Baines (East Antrim CC).
The following day the road race took place which was on a two and a half lap, 40 mile challenging circuit. Yet again this came down to a sprint finish involving six riders and David yet again took the victory ahead of Benner Maguire (Drogheda Wheelers) and Ben Dowling (Bray Wheelers).
