Ballyclare Ladies win local derby

Larne - 0, Ballyclare 1XI - 1: BALLYCLARE 1XI were prepared for a tough match as the fought to a narrow victory over local rivals Larne on Saturday.
Early pressure from the Larne forwards meant the defence consisting of Ruth Sutherland, Emma Patterson, Caroline McGookin and Lorraine Ashcroft had to act quickly. They defended well, especially in the short corners to ensure that Larne got no goals through.
Birthday girl, Rebecca Mills scored the goal of the match and her strike made the Larne team up the pressure. However, Ballyclare stood firm with excellent tackling from Tori Wallace, Caroline Darragh and Louise Bell.
Superb forward advance from Vicky Miligan, Jessica West and Suzanne Bell, with Vicky White and Kerrie Bell working hard to get the ball. A pleasing result for the girls and three points won for the league table. The 1XI will be away to Belfast on Saturday to play the 3rd Round of the McConnell Shield against Harlequins.

Priorians Away - 0
Ballyclare 2XI - 2
Ballyclare 2XI were away to Londonderry on Saturday to play against Priorians. With only 10 players, the 'Clare side played amazingly as they won 2-0.
The first goal was scored by Ruth Jenkins and the seconnd arose from a pass from Julie Cooke to Zoe Reid who scored. Terrific defense from Julie west and Jade Purdy and Sophie roy worked hard up front.
Everyone stepped up to the mark and put in a team effort to ensure no goals got past the Ballyclare keeper, Claire Grills.
A great score for the girls and fantastic play from Janice Wilson, Julie Cooke and Dee Wallace. The 2XI will play Cookstown this Saturday, home at Foundry Lane and passback at 1.00.

Saintfield - 4
The 3XI were home on Saturday against Saintfield and with no keeper, Claire Weatherup had to step in. The girls worked extremely well together and the result was disappointing owing to their growing skill that has been shown throughout the season.
Brilliant tackling from Miriam Weatherup and Chloe Fletcher. Great play from Helen White and the forward advance from the girls increases with every match. Shannon McHaon, Emma Clarke and Sarah Cunningham all played extremely well. The 3XI are play Jordanstown away at 4.00 this Saturday.

Ballyclare Ladies 1st XI 5
Derg Valley 1
Last week Ballyclare 1XI were back on top form as they played Derg Valley on Saturday at Foundry Lane and produced a result which helped to keep them close to the top of Senior 2 before Saturday's away win to league leaders Larne .
They got off to a great start with Tori Wallace scoring nine minutes in, the second goal was scored 23 minutes in with Caroline Darragh getting past the Derg Valley keeper.
Going into the second half, Ballyclare were determined to step up the pressure and Tori Wallace scored her second goal against Derg Valley. However, six minutes into the second half Derg got a short corner and scored.
Ballyclare then bounced back and Jessica West scored the fourth goal of the match. Ending the match with a perfect hat trick, Tori Wallace scored the fifth goal to make the score 5-1.
Overall, everyone played astoundingly well. Defence, midfield and those up front worked hard the entire match and deserved the concluding score.
